Visit Valeda at the Kansas Learning Center for Health

Date: March 10, 2017 to December 31, 2018, 9:00 AM
Venue: Kansas Learning Center for Health - 505 Main, Halstead, KS
Sponsor: Kansas Learning Center for Health

The Event:

Visit "Valeda," an anatomical transparent mannequin that is on permanent display at the Kansas Learning Center for Health (KLCH) in Halstead. "Valeda" is coined from the word valid, which means strong and healthy. There are only 3 Valeda’s in the USA: Halstead, KS; Chicago, IL; and Pittsburg, PA. Valeda is the physical prototype of all women. She stands 5’7" and, if alive, would weigh around 145 lbs. At an original cost of $14,105.00 in 1965, Valeda has proved that the human body is indeed a marvelously created machine. Did you know your body has 60,000 miles of veins and arteries? Valeda has 6 ¼ miles of wire to represent her veins and arteries! Stop by the KLCH Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm to see Valeda and enjoy the interactive exhibit hall.
