2017 Support Local Law Enforcement Community Parade & Block Party

The Event:

The parade is sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police, Wichita Lodge Five. Please share this event, invite all your friends, and help us spread the word! The concept of the parade is primarily community driven (churches, schools, businesses, and other organizations) with some law enforcement participation as well.

The parade will begin Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at 10:30 am at 500 N. Main in the downtown area.

NEW this year we will be hosting a Community Block Party immediatly following the parade until 2 pm. We will have food trucks, live music, children activities and much more!

All types of parade entries are welcome and there is a $40 entry fee. There is no restriction or limitation as to how large or small your parade contingent can be. All we ask is that you adhere to our instruction sheet which will be sent to you along with your entry form.

The parade route starts at Central and Main in front of the Law Enforcement Memorial and will travel south to 1st Street. At 1st Street, the parade will turn to the right (west) onto 1st Street and proceed one block west to Water Street. The parade route will then proceed right (north) on Water Street to 3rd Street where everyone will disband and either drive away or proceed to their vehicles on foot. There are also several parking lots around the area as well. The official end of the parade is where it turns at the intersection of 1st Street and Main Street.

**Each parade entrant must display a banner or sign specifically stating “(Your Organization, Church, or Business Name) Supports Local Law Enforcement.” Example: “F.O.P. Lodge #5 Supports Local Law Enforcement.” Banner or sign must be visibly and prominently displayed** No inappropriate signage will be allowed. The parade committee reserves the right to approve/disapprove any entry.
