Date: April 29, 2017,
Venue: Wichita Art Museum - 1400 W. Museum Blvd., Wichita

The Event:

The Wichita Art Museum proudly announces the establishment of the C. A. Seward Print Study Center, a museum focus on cultivating the premier collection of Prairie Print Makers and offering exhibition and education programs focusing on this Wichita artist collective. The forum offers an afternoon of illustrated talks on the history, process, and extraordinary expressive abilities of lithographs. The talks expand upon WAM's spring exhibition "William J. Dickerson Block Prints, Etchings, Lithographs." Speakers include Dennis Michael Jon, senior associate curator of prints and drawings, Minneapolis Institute of Art, Steven Stoops, print dealer and owner, Stevens Fine Art, Phoenix, and Barbara Thompson, independent art historian and granddaughter of C. A. Seward.
The afternoon Print Forum is free and open to the public. The C. A. Seward Dinner is $40 per person and a cash bar will be available. RSVP deadline for the dinner is Monday, April 24. Purchase dinner tickets online at wichitaartmuseum.org/events. For additional information on the Print Forum talks, visit wichitaartmuseum.org/forum.
