Art Rocks! Summer Art Camps

Date: June 11, 2018 to August 10, 2018,
Venue: CityArts - 334 N. Mead, Wichita

The Event:

This summer, campers will explore different art mediums to learn new creative art skills and develop inspiring projects:   Drawing & Painting Camp June 11-15 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily   $175 Learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting {shade, shadow, perspective, etc.} and create beautiful paintings and drawings throughout the week based on different styles and famous artists in fun and imaginative ways!

Pottery & Sculpture Camp
June 18-22  | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily  | $175

You’ll think outside the box (and get your hands dirty) as you learn how to create different clay and sculptural pieces. Explore the pottery studio to create pieces with your hands, and then imagine different ways to create lively sculptures!

Silver, Glass & Mixed Media Camp
June 25-29  | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily  | $175

Use your creativity to create pieces of art using copper, glass and found objects. Learn how to fuse glass to make bugs and windchimes in the glass fusing studio. Explore the process of making jewelry in the silversmithing studio. Use found objects to create whimsical pieces of 2D and 3D artwork.

Digital Arts Camp
June 25-29  | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily  | $175 | Ages 13-18

Throughout the week, you’ll work as a team to take photos and interview people to create a publication featuring your work. You’ll learn principles of graphic design during the week that will help make your final designs pop!

July 9-13  | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily  | $175

Learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting — shade, shadow, perspective, etc. — and create beautiful paintings and drawings throughout the week based on different styles and famous artists in fun and imaginative ways! The projects this week will be different from the June 11-15 camp.

Printmaking & Mixed Media Camp
July 16-20  | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily  | $175

Did you know there are many different ways to transfer designs to a piece of paper' This week, you’ll explore different printmaking methods. You’ll also use found objects to create 2D and 3D artwork!

July 23-27  | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily  | $175
