Plains Regional Regatta

Date: May 5, 2019,
Venue: Shocker Rowing Boathouse - 150 N McLean Blvd, Wichita

The Event:

Wichita State University Rowing is hosting our first Plains Regional Regatta at the new Shocker Rowing Boathouse located at River Vista in downtown Wichita. Teams competing in this regatta are from St. Louis University, K-State, University of St. Thomas, KU, Colorado State University, University of Denver, and Oklahoma State University.

Race Structure

- Launch with bow pointed downstream
- Warm-up between dock and Lincoln St. bridge
- Race upstream on East side of the river - maximum of three boats in each race
- Start line will be on the North side of Lincoln bridge
- Finish line will be just before 1st St. bridge
- Turn around after the 1st St. bridge and row down on the West side of the river single file back to the dock
- Recover from WSU dock

Equipment: WSU will provide equipment at no cost to all teams attending.

Sleeping arrangements: All teams may stay in Wichita State University's Recreation Center at no cost.

Food: Pasta dinner on Saturday and Sandwich lunch on Sunday will be provided by Shocker Rowing.
