Arts Calendar

The Big Float and Beach Party

Date: July 20, 2019,
Venue: Arkansas River -

The Event:

Join Wichita Clean Streams and their Partners for Wichita's biggest river float from Cowtown to the WSU Shocker Rowing River Vista Boat House during Riverfest! A formal launch will begin at Cowtown at 4:30 pm to get the river party started! The float will end at the WSU Shocker Rowing River Vista Boat House where anyone and everyone can enjoy the Big Float Beach Party!

The beach party will include:
-Water Quality Science
-Kayak Rentals
-Paddle Boat Rentals
-Paddle Board Rentals
-Dock Fun
-Yard Games
-Layout Areas
-Beer Gardens
-Land and River Yoga
-Beach Music
-View of the Riverfest Fireworks
- And More!!

Participants, in the float, must be 18 years or older or 16 years or older with a legal parent or guardian. All participants must wear a life vest to participate. Tubes and life jackets can be rented for $20 , which includes a Riverfest button. Participants are encouraged to bring their most outrageous flotation devices for a discounted registration charge of $15, which still includes the Riverfest button. We will have a air compressor for tubes at the launch site. Prizes will be given to the best flotation device voted on by flotation device scoring professionals!;)

Day of registration will be $25 for all participants.

The Big Float Beach Party is open to anyone, any age, who would like to check out the river activities. Participants do not have to participate in the float or have a Riverfest button to participate in the Beach Party. However, participants that do participate in the float and have the Riverfest button will have discounts on kayak and paddle boat rentals.

Wichita Clean Streams Objective:
To showcase recreational activities that come from good water quality in the Lower Arkansas River through community involvement and education so that water quality becomes a valued component of life in South Central Kansas.
